Friday post-op

A quick update from today's surgery:
  • Braden was in the operating room for just under two hours. (This was his third trip to the O.R. in two weeks!)
  • His temporary pacemaker and wires were disconnected, being replaced by his "permanent" pacer and single lead connected to his right ventricle.
  • After surgery, Dr. Permut told Jenni and I that he was pleased with how the procedure went.
  • Now all Braden needs is time to heal. We pray that his body will respond well, with no complications.
  • As he progresses, the doctors will determine when he can leave CICU and move to the floor. One step closer to home...

Thank you for your continued prayers,

Darth

Hi Jenni & Darth-
We know how hard it is to be in a hospital long term. We are sending you Pagliachi Pizza for your family and enough to share with your nursing staff for dinner tonight to the CICU. They will call you when it arrives, should be around 5:00 pm, for you to come and pick up at front desk of hospital. We continue to pray for Braden and for you, and that you will all be home soon. With Much Love, The Ruanes.

You have been in our thoughts and prayers sooooo much. I loved having time today to see all the pictures and read all the updates. Braden is adorable and so healthy looking. He definitely looks like he is growing!
1 Sam. 1:27 reminds me that this is the child you prayed for. God knew what you would have to endure because 'this' is the child he answered your prayer with! Be encouraged.
Just wanted to let you know I would be happy to be a babysitter if/when you ever let him out of your site. I thought it might help to know a pediatric nurse.
Love ya
